This policy explains what personal data FanChants collects, how we use it, and your rights. It's written in plain English.
1. Who we are
FanChants ("we", "us", "our") is operated by FANCHANTS.COM LTD, a company registered in England & Wales, company number 05846874. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
2. What we collect
- Account/member data: your email address, team preference(s) โ club or national, and you can follow more than one โ and an optional avatar.
- Optional extras: an optional date of birth (used for birthday-card prompts) and an optional phone number (used for future SMS/WhatsApp notifications). Both are always optional and never block you using the site.
- Chant and e-card submissions: the audio or content you send us, plus the name/handle and email address you give us, so we can credit you and follow up.
- Automatically collected: standard technical data (IP address, browser/device type, pages visited) and cookies โ see the cookie table below.
3. Social sign-in
- What we receive: If you use Google, Facebook or X to sign in, we receive your name, a provider identifier, and โ when the provider supplies it โ your email address.
- What we use it for: We use it to sign you in and to match your social sign-in to an existing FanChants membership.
- What we don't do: We do not post on your behalf.
4. How we host and process your data
- Hosting: DigitalOcean, in EU/UK datacentres (London and Amsterdam).
- Transactional and notification email: Amazon SES (region eu-west-2). Bounces and complaints are checked against a suppression list, to keep deliverability clean and stop us emailing addresses that have opted out or bounced.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 โ only after you consent via our cookie banner. Consent defaults to denied; nothing analytics-related loads until you actively opt in.
- Media and CDN: DigitalOcean Spaces serves images, audio and other media assets.
5. Cookies we use
The table below lists the cookies FanChants sets, grouped by what they're for and whether they need your consent first.

You can change your cookie choices at any time via our cookie preferences page. Essential cookies can't be turned off โ they're needed for the site to function.
6. Marketing
If you opt in at registration, we'll send you FanChants news and offers. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can manage what you receive at any time from your account's preference centre. Opting out of marketing doesn't affect transactional emails, such as password resets or order confirmations.
7. Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We handle these requests manually and will respond within 30 days.

8. Minimum age
FanChants is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under this age.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
