Moises Caicedo arrived from Ecuador in 2021 and won the Amex crowd over completely before leaving in a British record deal. The Seagulls faithful were singing about Ballon d'Or glory long before anyone else took notice. Caicedo joined Brighton in February 2021 and left in August 2023 for Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth up to £115 million, a British transfer record at the time. He was named Brighton's Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season in his final year at the club.
