Matthew Etherington joined Stoke City from West Ham in January 2009 and became one of the fan favourites of the Premier League years. The winger made 177 appearances for the Potters, won the 2009-10 Player of the Year award, and scored in the FA Cup semi-final as Stoke reached their first ever FA Cup final. The Vale fans hated him. Stoke chants for a genuine Boothen hero.
